El mar con los cinco sentidos
CON VIRGINIA MOLLAbbacino's mission with ‘El Mar con los cinco sentidos’ is to raise awareness of the challenges that threaten our oceans and seas today. We seek to promote a new perspective on fashion through sustainability, with the aim of minimising our impact on the planet and contributing to global improvement. We will give voice to visionary and committed people whose words inspire us to work for a better world. We want to become a model of transparency, promoting actions that benefit nature and bring us closer to it.
This initiative is supported by the Fundació Marilles, dedicated to making the Balearic Islands a world leader in marine conservation.
Abbacino is a Mediterranean company with a strong connection to the sea and we know that without blue, there is no green. That is why we are part of the Balearic Blue Pact, an initiative promoted by the Marilles Foundation that proposes specific actions to guarantee a sea full of life.
Citizens, the business community and the public administration must join forces to conserve the seabed. A sea in an excellent state of conservation is essential to cushion the impacts of climate change and to guarantee the future of industries such as fishing, tourism, sailing and the jobs that depend on them.
A STEP TOWARDS CHANGE
Abbacino was born in the Mediterranean, in a setting that is home to incredibly beautiful yet fragile landscapes that need respect and care.
It is our responsibility to take action and look for new ways of sustainable manufacturing in order to reduce our ecological footprint, for example by using recycled materials free of harmful chemicals. Our company's aim is to promote sustainable fashion and circular trade, so that we can help to reduce the environmental impact of our industry and move towards transparency and the well-being of nature.
It is difficult yes, but not impossible. Let's take action. Let's change fashion forever. Let's promote change.

THE TEAM
In 2023 we begin a year of change, and we must start by changing our work habits. We are currently carrying out an analysis together with our employees to study all the processes of our team and assess what needs to be improved.
Thus, internally, we have decided to promote flexibility in work routines for a better work-life balance, a simple and easy act that reflects a better work performance.
We also started to look at possible improvements to our infrastructure, to make our workplace a safe and pleasant place to work.
OUR METAMORPHOSIS
In 2023 we made 48% of our Trendy collection sustainable and in 2024 it will be 80% sustainable. These accessories are made from bottles that come from the sea, we crush them, we obtain the recycled material that we turn into non-polluting RPET fibre and voilà: our eco-sustainable collection.
If there is one thing that is clear to us is that the higher we set our goal, the more we will be able to grow, that is why the only way forward is total sustainability, to achieve a 100% sustainable collection by 2025. We challenge you to think about the planet, to think about yourself and your future.
